NATO rejects critical of Libyan rebels - voice of America

NATO rejected rebel Libyan criticism of the pace of the air strikes of the alliance against the military leader of Libyan Muammar Gaddafi, as pro-Gaddafi forces shelling rebels in the Western City of Misrata and sent back cities of the Eastern oil.

A NATO spokesman said Wednesday that the frequency and accuracy of air strikes in Libya has not changed since that NATO took control of military operations last week. She added that the protection of civilians in rebel Misrata held is "number a priority for NATO."

The head of the Libya rebels fighters supported a delay in the achievement of air strikes around Misrata fairly quickly caused the death of civilians.

Abdel Fattah Younes said that he could encourage the rebel leaders to take their grievances to the United Nations Security Council, which authorized the use of force in Libya to stop government troops of harming civilians.

French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe said Wednesday the situation in Misrata "cannot continue" and promised talks with the head of NATO.

The French official said forces pro-Gaddafi dampen NATO air strikes in heavily populated civilian areas, where the alliance is difficult to target them precisely positioning.

NATO officials say their air power on the Libya is always as large, but Kadhafi was using civilians as human shields and hiding his armour in populated areas.

Brigadier Mark van Uhm, head of Allied operations said in Misrata, the alliance has "absolute confirmation" tanks are currently dispersed and humans used as shields "to" avoid the outputs of NATO to identify and target these assets.

Rebel officials dispute claim of Van Uhm that civilian are present in all areas where the pro-Gaddafi forces are placed.

Controversy at the time where forces loyal to Qadhafi forced the rebels to retreat during the fighting near the towns of Eastern Brega and Ajdabiyah keys.

Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts to end the conflict continue. Sent Libyan Abdul-Ati al-Obeidi ended a shuttle mission to the Greece, Malta and the Turkey after setting out the official position of the Libya. The Government said Tuesday that Obeidi was appointed to replace Musa KUSA, Minister for Foreign Affairs after the close ally of Gaddafi defected in Britain.

Rebel and Western leaders say that they will not accept any agreement that allows Gaddafi or his son to stay in power.
